This shrub is a tough dense highly ornamental banksia with long bright yellow scented cylindrical flowers in winter to summer and broad dark green leaves with toothed edges that grows between two and four metres tall. It grows in full sun to part shade, in well drained soils, is quite tolerant of slaty wind and can be used as a windbreak, shade tree or specimen tree.
